Hi,

I have an HP OfficeJet 6700 Premium All-in-One printer that, after an automatic firmware upgrade,  stopped working with compatible ink cartridges.

The last installed firmware is MPM5CN1827DR.

I would like to rollback to the firmware that allow me to use compatible ink cartridges because I think that is illegal that hp choose for me which cartidges I have to use.

This is a big problem for me because I use in my home the printer very often and now this problem has stopped my activities.

Hope in a very quickly resolution.

Regards

Alessandro

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Unfortunately, there is no way to rollback a printer firmware update. As per the MPM5CN1827DR firmware description available here, the firmware update only include a critical security fix which addresses an important security vulnerability. The firmware update does not contains any patches that would restrict using compatible ink cartridges.

Do you see any error on the printer display?

Are you able to copy documents?

Could you also print self test page and let me know the results. You may use the steps available here to print a self test page.

Keep me posted!
