I’m having the   issue. Printer won’t print or copy with black ink. Please help!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page:

  1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. From the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu.

  3. Open the Reports or Tools menu.

  4. Touch Print Quality Report.

Let me know if you see any black on this report.

 

Clean the printhead:

  1. From the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu.

  2. Open the Printer Maintenance menu.

  3. If necessary, open the Tools menu, and then touch Clean Printhead.

  4. If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. If necessary, repeat these steps for the third cleaning cycle.

NOTE: If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.

I have tried all these suggestions, and unfortunately none worked. I still can not print in black ink. I have tried 2 brand new ink cartridges as well. Neither one have worked.

I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team as this could be a hardware/printhead issue.
