Hi Ron, this whole thing is very interesting to me since I also cannot get my 7410 fully functional on Windows 10. In fact, I can't even get it to be detected during installation with a USB connection! Forget wireless: the printer claims it's connected to the network but not according to Windows 10, it's not...I am wondering if you tried the suggestion about using Windows 8 driver package and if it worked for you as it apparently did for that gentleman. In any event, I just wanted to say thanks for doggedly following all of this guy's suggestions and keeping the details coming--I found it very helpful because you were obviously thoroughly following all of HP's suggestions and still coming up empty, as I myself have: I have another post going with them and so far none of the suggestions has worked...I think it's a Windows 10 thing but whatever: it's either get another printer which is ridiculous, or revert to Win 7 at this point, because I've spent enough time on this to make it a liability to continue! Good luck.

Hey Matt, thanks for this suggestion, I'm going to try it because I've spent two days trying to resolve this issue and that's way too much! So thanks because I wasn't getting anywhere; don't know if it'll work but I suspect it might, I've got a 7410 too. Thanks much

Matt,
I haven't tried using the Windows 8 software but I will try it when I get home tonight and post the results here.
I don't understand why I wasn't notified of your post. That has happended with all previous posts.

Hi there....
No. not yet, but I was advised to also update all my network adapters and I haven't done that, so possibly that will make a difference...I'm going to try that today. What's irritating is that--and you probably know this--HP "no longer supports" the 7410 because it's out of warranty, so I can't get to use certain utilities that would otherwise be available to me. So my thought is that if I can't get it to work within the next day or so, I'm going to either revert back to Win 7 or use my Lexmark printer. I don't like the attitude of these companies that decide they're only going to offer customer support on their newest products...I call it "Microsoft syndrome"....

Ron and Brett,
Just an update to my experience. The Win 8 software installs just fine on Win 10.
HOWEVER ....
When I try to scan an image using the scanning portion of the HO Solution center, the image will do a preview scan but WILL ERROR OUT when trying to save. Since I have been trying to scan some photos of my recently deceased mother, this has been really frustating to say the least.
Whomever at HP built the "Windows 10 install package" for the Officejet 7410 needs to go back and test this please. I really dont want to start writing in more forums about this issue. 😞
I did manage to get around this completely by using a copy of Adobe Standard 9.0 (which is technically NOT Win 10 compatible) to scan the images. Now my issue is that I have some dust hair under the glass which causes black clothes to look like someone loved up on a white pet before the photo was taken.

Hi Matt...thanks for the update. I agree with you completely; all of this seems like it's way harder than it should be. Especially when the techs don't know how to fix it, ultimately, since so far none of their suggestions has worked. But if you haven't done so yet, look at the user manual for the 7410--there's a whole section on networking that has things I haven't tried yet. Possibly our answer is there somewhere hopefully. I'm sick of this. Good luck.
