My printer won't print in color despite removing check from black and white printing. I have run a test page and aligned the machine and these tests print in color. Also, I have removed the two-sided check mark and it is still printing on both sides. Essentially, the printer options are not responding.

A warm welcome to HP Community!
Since the printer is able to print a test page, its possible that it's an issue with the printer driver installed on Mac. Removing the existing printer driver and then setting up the printer with Apple AirPrint may resolve the issue.
Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Let me know how it goes!

Hello, it's happening again -- not printing in color -- all drivers are updated as is operating system software. Unplugged and re-plugged printer and printed test page (which printed color). However, documents from Word, Adobe are printing in black/white only. Please advise.

@Gabyff, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Try resetting the print system. Follow the steps below:
Resetting the print system clears any error states by removing all HP and non-HP printers, print jobs, and printer preferences.
-
Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
-
Click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.
-
Right-click (or Control + click) anywhere inside the Printers window, and then click Reset printing system.
-
Click Reset in the confirmation window.
-
Enter the Administrator name and password, and then click OK to complete the reset.
After the printing system resets, add your printer back to the list using AirPrint drivers and try to print.
Keep me posted for further assistance.
