Officejet 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Officejet 8600 shows a offline with no indication why it's offline or what to do about it.

I had unplugged the USB cable, but it is back in now.  I tried turning the printer off and back on again and I tried unplugging it and reconnecting it.  But nothing seems to help.

What should I do?

I discovered that while plugging in the USB cable in the back of the printer, I used the wrong USB receptacle.

Once I moved the plug to the correct receptacle, the printer immediately came "online" and began working again.

My bad!
