Hello, 

When a document is busy printing, it suddenly stops. It is impossible to print a complete document. There is not an issue with the printer since it possible to print from our old computer. In the past it was possible to print using another printer. So I assume it might be a compatibility issue.

My current laptop has windows 10 home version 10.0.19041 Build 19041 as operating system.  The old pc has Windows Vista. The printer is an Officejet G85.

Has anyone encountered the same issue? How was it solved?

All ideas are welcome.

 I'd be happy to assist!

 

 Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

 

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

--->Select your HP printer.

--->Select Uninstall.

--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

--->Click on the Drivers tab.

--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

--->Select OK.

--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

--->Close Devices and Printers.

 

We do not have drivers available for your os, I'd recommend you add the printer using windows built-in drivers.

 

 Follow the steps below:

 

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add a printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Unfortunately, the issue wasn’t solved by applying the steps below.

Next step will be to try printing with a different printer.
