The solution I found with my computer and the problem I had was to just run Office as an admin.. Not ideal since it asks me if I want to run it as an admin everytime that I open a file but it will do for now...

Problem needs to be fixed!I have exactly the same problem. Office Applications won't print documents. Starting for example Word2013 with admin rights is a workaround. Problem needs to be fixed!

Office 2013 32bit SP1

Hi,
I can only confirm what has been already written here - that this is a very low quality printer that looks good only on the spec sheet. The quality of the tech support on this forum is (to be polite) insulting.
I'm also a IT network specalist of 20+ years, have 3 other computers (Win7,Win10 32/64bit) and the printer works fine on them, just not on the computer from where I'm typing this.
I can ping the device, open the webtool and print a test page from there (proves the device but I don't need to prove the device , it works on the other 3 PCS), but when trying to print to the device (even a Windows Test Print) from here nothing. Not even stuck in the queue - just disappears.
Have deleted the printer (several times), added it again via the HP tool (that detects it just fine) but still won't print, also add local printer with standard TCP port. Strange that it doesn't autodetect the printer, but it does find a printer on the IP address I give, so I can manually select the driver.
I started to wonder if it was the Symantec Endpoint security that's stopping bi-directional communication withe device, but there no chance for me to disable this as it's a corporate machine - and why should I? The other printers (even the old Deskjet 3050) are working fine, it's just this new printer.
Also looked at the default paper size that seems to stick at letter. Change the registry setting in DSPRINT key, to A4 but still nothing (and anyway even printing to paper type Letter, the document disappears into thin air).
Final test, USB direct connection - still won't print (should have tried that first I guess). So the printer just sucks.
Even more bizzarly, wireless scanning works perfectly,
I'd stick it back in the box and return it right away but I also forked out on print cartridges so I'm getting quite annoyed now at this waste of money.
Regards. Kevin 14.11.2015.

I have the same problem under Windows 7 with a new printer.
It scans perfectly and prints sometimes! It's not an issue of print head or whatever.
I found a workaround solution - that is not satisfactory - but will hopefully work also for you. If you start Office (or any other application) as an administrator (Windows 7: Hold shift button and right-click on app in Start Menu -> select "Run as administrator") it will work!!!
So it seems to be an issue of admin-rights on windows systems 😞
I found no real solution yet but I am thankful for any hints.

I'm at my wits end with this.
So the printer won't print a test page from this specific windows 7 (x64) host, neither via IP or USB.
I can telnet the printer on port 9100 and get it to print via command line, but not thrugh Windows.
I've even tried using the printer shared through the W8 and W10 hosts (that work fine with this printer) but still the printout disappears without trace (not even stuck in the queue).
I uninstalled the software, deleted the printer, and all references to the stupid thing from the registry, and any old folders that may be harbouring a grudge.
I was worried that maybe an old printer with the same IP was blocking the jobs but have deleted any other home printers, and printer ports, and cleared out spooler folder of any potentially blocked jobs (anyway, the issue is also there with USB ptinting so...)
Annoyingly, but thankfully, other printers (Lexmark x940, Richo MFD, Samsung ML551, and HP M5035) all print fine (direct to IP).
I was ready to accept a compromise by printing via a network share at home but if even that doesn't work, I'm about ready to give up.
If someone from HP Customer Care is reading this, please if you even want to sell your printers in my company, I'd suggest you drop me a mail before HP lose any chance of survival in my company.

you guys suggest removing power cord and starting over for everything, do you really think we want to go through this bull**** everytime we want to work with this piece of crap
it was bad enough i had to send in my new printer for a refurbished one when the faulty printhead nonsense happened now the printer is NEVER on line and its completely useless
now you suggest plugging in via wires. i bought a wireless printer for a reason
this is the worst product you ever put out
how do i get a refund?
