Hello All,

 

I've only printed 21 pages and it says my printer is out of ink. I bought the printer in March 2018 and did not open the printer or install the ink cartridge until August 2019. I've attached a copy of the print status page below.

 

Did I receive a faulty ink cartridge and if so, how can I get a new one from HP? I saw online that these cartridges should be able to print up to 300 pages.

If you open the cartridges and do not use it for long time, the ink might dry off.

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

Did you buy these cartridges separately or they came with the printer when you bought it?

 

The initial cartridges which were shipped with the printer are just tp set up the printer print a few initial copies.

You will have to buy regular cartridges if the setup cartridges are out of ink.

Thanks, I didn't know I had to buy cartridges. If I don't print many, do the ink cartridges go stale if I open them too early?
