Hello,

 

The copy function on my Officejet Pro 7740  doesn't work.

 

When I put a document on the glass bed or in the APF and select "Start Black" or "Start Color", all I get is a little clicking sound with each button press. That's it. No error message, no copy, nothing.

 

The integrated  preview function works fine though, it runs the scans, and shows the preview on the printer display. 

 

Tried restarting, updating to the latest firmware, nothing helps.

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Removing the ink cartridges and power resetting the printer may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector

2) Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door

3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer

5) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges.
