Dear Sir,

I have the 7740 connected directly to the router and it makes no diference... The printer keeps hanging...

The number of people with the same issue sugests a real problem, but so far i can only ear standard recepies, or worst (assumption that all users are dumb).

In my business, printers dont have to be photo quality or incredible fast or very economic, but they have to be very reliable...

Best regards

I am having the same issue. I still haven't seen a solution. I have tried all the lame suggestions. Reload, unload, restart, scan, copy print from a phone, have your dog try printing, try multiple computers. Guess what they all don't work. Can someone please come up with a solution? Or is returning this computer the best solution?

HP please find a solution.

Hi @farside11,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer wherein it stops printing after 7 to 8 pages.

This issue could occur if the firmware is not updated to the latest version.

And here are a few steps in the link to update the firmware: Firmware Update

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Updating the firmware to the latest version didn't solve the problem, but i advise you to do it anyway...

Ask for support!

I received a call from local support, and they did the following (via remote access):

1 - Consult the IP from the printer (from the printer menu) and set to that IP in the computer (fixed)

2 - Set the default PDF software to Acrobat (not Edge browser)

3 - In the printer setup, check the "print as image" option

No driver or firmware was updated.

So far (it was last wendsday), it works (printed a large PDF just to test)....

Hope this helps...

Unfortunately I have already updated to version EDWINXPP1N002.1706A.00. I tried updating again but the dialogue box won't allow me to reload the firmware.

Any other suggestions?

Updated firmware already. But thanks.

Not sure how to change the IP address.

I don't print from Edge too many issues so I use PDF Architect 4. On my other computer we use Adobe Acrobat and that computer has the same problems.

I don't find the print as an image option in PDF Architect but I am familiar with that option in Adobe products. I can't find that option in the printer dialogue boxes.
