Officejet Pro 8600 Plus duplex printing not working

Do you have the printer connected by USB or is it networked? You may have the airprint driver installed and I do not believe that supports duplex printing.

I have been able to resolve the duplex printing using Word documents, but cannot find a way when printing pdf documents other than in booklet format which is too small for my use.

is there another way, and if not, why can't HP develop one?

I've been following your advice and its all worked and I've printed doubled sided but I cant see how to make it the default setting - how do I find the pre-sets? I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.5

Great help. You should mention that on the mac printer and scanners page, whichever device you have highlighted blue from the list on the left, will show which driver it is using next to the word Kind.

I read your post. I have the HP800 wireless printer and a new macbook pro with 10.9.4 os. Heres the problem, when I try to print a two page document, be it word document or excel spreadsheet, the "double side" option box simply does not appear in the print window. However, if I print a pdf, the "double sided" DOES appear. Why is this?

Running the latest Windows. Used to have the duplex option. It just disappeared. So frustrating. I want an answer other than click the check box! 😉
