I have an Officejet Pro 8620 printer. Love it. I got a message to change my black 950XL cartridge. I changed it with a new HP 950XL cartridge and got the error message "There is a problem with the cartridge or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, call HP." So i thought the cartridge (made in China) might be bad. So I opened another brand new HP 950XL cartridge (made in China), inserted it. Got the same error message. (I did turn the computer off and on three times before I started changing the cartridges. Same error message. So I changed the cartridge with my 3rd brand new HP cartridge (this one was from Singapore). Same error message. So i put in the old cartridge (made in Malaysia) and the printer recognized it, error message went away but it then said I needed to change it as it is out of ink. I tried it again with another old cartridge from Malaysia and it did the same thing - liked the cartridge but let me know it also was out of ink. SO WHAT THE HECK. I have gone through all the help online and cannot figure out what to do. I cannot believe that 3 brand new HP cartridges are all bad. BUT why does the printer like the ones from Malaysia but not the ones from China or Singapore. I don't know what to do. HELP?

I have the same problem. I just spent money on 2 black cartridges, and one of each one of the other colors. The black one is just not working at all, stopping me from printing. Very frustrated at this point. While HP keeps making money on ink, we keep dealing with design problems.
