HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This printer worked for a few years and then recently stopped printing. I just see a generic printing error in the print queue with no elaboration. What's weird is if I go in the HP Smart app and select to print a test page or demo page, it prints! But trying to print from any other app fails. This is true for my laptop and my desktop computer, both of which run windows 10. I tried using the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it was no help. Help me, please!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Could you please share the picture of the error message?
  • Did you make any changes to your printer?
  • Have you tried updating the HP smart app to the latest version?
  • What's the Wi-Fi light status on the Printer(Blinking or Steady)?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
