HP printer weird printing.JPGEverything on this printer looks fine - no error messages, no ink cartridge issues (plenty of HP cartridge ink left) however the printer goes through the motions of printing but nothing is showing on the paper when it comes through!

I tried resetting, printing from different source, checking cartridges, and running test printing - which oddly does print a tiny bit of print - see photo.

Cannot work out what is going wrong .... any help gratefully received ......

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting print quality issues, I am glad to assist you.

Clean the ink cartridges

  1. Load the printer with plain white paper.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup .

  3. Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.

  4. Examine the print quality on the Print Quality Diagnostic report.

  5. If the print quality is acceptable, touch No. You can stop troubleshooting.

Manually clean the area around the ink nozzles

  1. Gather the following materials:

    • A clean, lint-free cloth or a clean, dry cotton swab

    • Distilled or bottled water

         CAUTION:

Do not use tap water because it might contain contaminants that can damage the printhead.

  2. Gently grasp the handles on either side of the printer, and then raise the ink cartridge access door until it locks into place.

The carriage moves to the center of the printer.

  3. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
