Till Big Sur, (once Catalina was sorted) all good.
Now my laptop thinks the printer is busy printing but it is not!
The printer works with my PC.
I have deleted the printer from my Mac and reinstalled it. Same problem.
I have tried to return to default settings on my printer but it thinks there are print jobs to do and won't allow me to reset it.
Help please!

Hi,
Try following the Resolution section below, I believe this should help:

I appreciate your reply but, sad to say that, I have now uninstalled the printer twice using the HP uninstaller, deleted all HP files and emptied the trash, and started all over again for one of those. Reinstalled it using the HP Smart drivers downloaded from HP, restarted the MacBook, and still I have the same issue.
The scanner works fine, but when I wish to print it adds the file to the queue and says 'printing' but nothing happens! Pausing or deleting and re-starting the print doesn't work.
I have also tried just deleting it using the Apple systems facility and re-adding it. Same problem.
Getting very frustrated now. Any other advice? Anyone?

Hi,
You are mentioning HP Smart, I include a very specific driver version in the linked article, it have nothing to do with HP Smart.
Please follow the Resolution section exactly as listed, install the included drivers there...
If you experience any error there, please let me know the EXACT behavior or error message shown.
