I'm receiving the Older Generation Cartridge error message, how do you fix this?
I have genuine cartridges and when I replaced an empty cartridge with a new one I get this error message.
I need a permanent fix for this, as I already tried the full unplug/replug suggestion.

If this is a genuine HP ink cartridge, I would need some information related to the ink cartridges and the printer which cannot be shared on a public post for security reasons.

Below is the msg I sent, minus the scans of the product.
End of warranty is 2020/05...these are brand new cartridges bought from Costco. I've attached a picture of the package they came in.
Regardless of whatever HP is doing these cartridges should absolutely 100% work still. It's BS if HP put a timebomb into the software through some update to prevent a cartridge that the warranty has ended from working. That's theft, as I bought a product on good faith that it will work when I need to use it, regardless of how long ago it was purchased.
Someone needs to provide me a fix ASAP to make these work.

Is there no one else out that has this issue? I can't imagine with all the printers out there that I'm the only one with this issue.
If anyone has this issue, please add to this, so we can get this issue resolved, as HP seem to not want to deal with it.

We have the same issue with our HP printer. All suggestions have failed and when my husband did an online chat with someone from HP, all he was told was that our printer's warranty expired, which we knew. The printer worked fine until it ran out of ink and when we replaced the cartridges with genuine HP cartridges that we have always used, they suddenly were deemed "older generation." This is unacceptable. A total rip-off and a scam. We are out the cost of the two packages of new cartridges we tried, as well as plenty of life that was still left in the printer. Have it your way, HP. We won't EVER buy another HP product.
