I have an HP envy 5055. When I try printing from my phone through the app it’s telling me to “optimize then print” which I select, it send the file, but the printer is not receiving it or printing it. No communication to the printer. But my app acts like the print job was complete.

Hi @MgnS11,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing issues with printing from your phone to your HP Envy 5055 using the app. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem.
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
- Make sure the printer is turned on and in a ready state.
Restart Printer and Phone:
- Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Restart your phone.
- Plug in the printer and turn it back on.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your HP Envy 5055. You can usually find this information on the HP support website.
Update Mobile App:
- Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your phone. If not, update the app from the respective app store.
Check Print Queue:
- Open the print queue on your phone and see if there are any pending print jobs. If so, try deleting them and resend the print job.
Clear App Cache:
- In your phone's settings, find the HP Smart app and clear its cache. This can sometimes resolve communication issues.
Reinstall the App:
- Uninstall the HP Smart app from your phone, restart your phone, and then reinstall the app. Set up the connection with your printer again.
Printer Troubleshooter:
- Most printers have a built-in troubleshooter. Check your printer's manual for instructions on running a troubleshooter or diagnostic test.
Printer Network Settings:
- Ensure that the printer's network settings are correctly configured. You may need to check the manual for instructions on adjusting network settings.
Try these steps and see if they help resolve the communication issue between your phone and HP Envy 5055 printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
