Hi @Ducky14,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

An orange exclamation mark or flashing light on your HP printer usually indicates a problem that needs attention. Here are some common causes and solutions:

Step 1: Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the Printer: Check for any jammed paper in the input and output trays.
  • Remove Any Paper: If you find any paper stuck, carefully remove it.

Step 2: Check Ink Cartridges

  • Open the Printer Access Door: Ensure all cartridges are properly installed.
  • Check for Errors: If any cartridges are low or empty, replace them.
  • Inspect for Damage: Make sure the cartridges are not damaged or leaking.

Step 3: Clear Print Queue

  1. Open the Print Queue: On your computer, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select Your Printer: Click on your printer and choose Open Queue.
  3. Cancel Any Stuck Jobs: Remove any jobs that might be causing issues.

Step 4: Run Printer Troubleshooter

  1. Open Settings: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  2. Run the Printer Troubleshooter: Follow the prompts to identify and fix issues.

Step 5: Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again.

Step 6: Check Printer Manual

  • If the error persists, consult your printer’s manual or HP’s support website for specific error codes related to the orange exclamation mark.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
