Is the information light supposed to stay on all the time

HP Recommended

Just set up an HP Printer, 2700 series.  There is a "steady" orange light next to "I" button.  What is it and does it stay on permanently.  Should I press it for Information?

That doesn't help in the least. The orange light is on next to the info button and there is an ! mark on the lcd. When you hold down the info button it prints out a page instructing how to add a printer, but the printer is added and fully functional. Nobody can seem to explain why the indication is there or how to fix it.

It means the printer is waiting for you to install the first batch of instant ink cartridges that you receive in the post. Read my earlier posts about this. This is the answer.

Page 7 says nothing about the solid orange light next to the Information Button.

After reading through the threads... one entry indicated replacing the ink cartridge with the "instant Ink" cartridge. After joining the program to have ink delivered, (possibly a free trial) I installed the new cartridges (both) and "SUCCESS", the light went off!

Now I am not sure how this relates to the printer and cartridges, but it appears to have worked.
