Has anyone resolved how to fix this problem?

 

I see many questions with the same issue - but none say they were solved.

 

Issue - won't print because of error "out of paper". Is not out of paper. Will print a test page from the HP website!!! Grrr. Worked the day before with no changes since - not even computer turned off.

 

Printer is new, worked the day before and will print from the HP website so is not a paper or spool issue.

 

I have restarted both printer and computer, uninstalled & reinstalled printer. Reset network. Installed drivers & firmware (all were up to date obviously).

 

As an aside, it took me weeks to get this stupid thing to connect to my computer - didnt even work with USB cable - and my computer is HP also!, "Smart" app was useless, sent me to a website that was non-existent, nstructions did not work and were very basic. I'm a biomedical scientist and work with equipment - it's not me it's HP. This is the worst printer I've ever owned.

My problem started with out of paper. I could not power down the 7855 printer/scanner with the button. The HP LOGO remained on the screen with an unfinished blue progress line. I uninstalled and unplugged the printer and came back two days later and plugged the printer into AC power. The printer seemed to come up so I reinstalled it on my PC (wireless) and made it the default printer. I printed 2 pages. Then I noticed a download taking place on the screen and an install. Then a message came up saying the printer had been updated to the latest update. Printing and scan capabilities are working just fine now.
