HP Office Jet Pro 8210
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Customer has reported the following:   trying to print a large document to the printer.  After three pages the document stops and prints the message "PBLXL Error Subsystem IP error: Insufficient memory "

This is a networked device, using the HP Officejet Pro 8210 PCL6 (v3) driver.  I'm finding it may just be the device itself does not have enough memory to store the job, but did not want to rule out other possible issues.

@Cindy07, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

To assist you better,

  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

KUMAR0307 Thank you for the information. Unfortunately I am not able to answer all the questions. It is not my actual printer, but one installed on our server. Regarding the firmware - my experience with HP is the upgrade rarely works, if ever when trying to upgrade it from a RUI. Can the firmware be upgraded via RUI? If not, does it have a USB port? We are all working from home. If it cannot be upgraded via file on flash drive, I don't want to waste time going on site. To use HP Print and Scan Doctor or the HP Smart app - I'm guessing I would need to download/install the printer from the server to my local PC and run from there, correct? The individual who has it installed from the server to their PC did not indicate the document type. Just a large document that errors out at page 3. (I can ask though). She indicated if it happens again she can send to her staff to print on the larger MFD they have in their office as well. Due to her position with our company, I'd still like to troubleshoot if possible.

@Cindy07

Yes, the printer has to be installed on the local machine for the HP Print and Scan Doctor and the HP Smart app to work. Yes, this printer supports a USB connection too.

Try printing different types of documents to check if the issue persists. This could be an application-specific issue.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
