I have an hp laser MFP 135a printer. No wifi.

I used to print from my old lenovo laptop. But not with my dads lenovo and not with my wifes mcbook air. Now i bought a new lenovo and i cant print either. It only prints word documents. PDF und IMG stay forever in queue and the dont get printet. I downloaded a thousand times the drivers and also hp unversal drivers. From HP webpage, from HP Smart, from Windows... nothing works. I cannot imagine that an hp product is so incomatible with almost every pc

Hi @bhjbjzv,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Ensure the Printer is Set as Default:

  • Make sure your HP Laser MFP 135a is set as the default printer on your new Lenovo laptop.
  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners > select your printer and click Set as default.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support Page and search for your printer model to download the latest drivers.
  • Uninstall any old or universal drivers from your laptop before installing the new driver.

Check Print Spooler Service:

  • Ensure the Print Spooler service is running.
  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Find Print Spooler, right-click and select Restart.

Try Different PDF Reader:

  • Sometimes the issue might be with the PDF reader you're using.
  • Use different PDF reader software (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader) to see if the problem persists.

Print as Image:

  • Open your PDF using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • Select Print...
  • In the print dialog, click Advanced and select Print as Image. Click Okay.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Printing Preferences.
  • Ensure that the settings are configured correctly for the type of documents you are trying to print (e.g., paper size, quality).

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility. This tool can automatically diagnose and resolve printing-related issues.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Download the HP Smart app for Windows 10.
  • Set up your printer using this app and try printing your files again.

Test Another Document Format:

  • Test the printer with different file formats besides Word, PDF, and IMG.
  • Try printing a test page or text file to see if the behavior persists.

Check Print Queue:

  • Clear the print queue to ensure no large print jobs are blocking others.
  • Go to Devices and Printers, double-click your printer icon to open the queue, and cancel any pending print jobs.

I hope this helps.

I tried all of these. I downloaded many times the drivers, i downloaded the universal driver. Nothing works.

I used scan doctor a few times, sometimes it prints a test page, sometimes it does not. Only word documents are printed. I tried other PDF Programms, it doesnt work. When i export the pdf to word, i dont get the same page...
