I have 3 printers (2 hp and 1 Epson) and wanted to identify each one on my iPhone by room location.

So I went to the internal web page using the IP address on the Epson and was able to add that info - no problem.

Now when I choose to print and then tap "Printer", the location appears under the printer name on the list.

(If I press the Info button "i" beside the Epson printer, the Location field is filled in.)

But I cannot seem to find a way to do the same on the internal web page of my hp printers.

Changing the Bonjour name only replaces the the Name field.  I would like to leave the name of the printer in that field.

So if I add the name of the room, it is not even visible (since the field is truncated when phone is vertical).

Does anyone know how to fill in the printer's Location field?

This worked for me:

use the device's local web browser interface. Http:ip address

go to

Tools

Utilities

Asset management

fill in the Location field

Apply

Wait for the browser to confirm the update.

see if it now displays the location info helpfully.

i actually updated a couple of fields just to see the effect

hope this works for you too.

Finally!

The browser I was using kept preventing me from linking to most of the side menu options (for security reasons).

So I changed browsers and voila!  It worked!  Thank you for the step-by-step instructions!
