PSC 1510
Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks
Hi all, I have an old PSC 1510 printer and a MacBook with OS X 10.9 and I can't seem to print in color. Although I can print in black and white. I know the color cartridge is ok because the test print in the beginning is in color. I also have the latest driver for my computer that I downloaded from the Apple site.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP PSC 1510 Printer. I understand that your printer is not printing in color and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well.

Clean the ink cartridges.

  1. Search the Mac for your printer model name, and then click the printer name in the list of results.

    HP Utility opens.

  2. Click Clean Printheads, and then click Clean.

The printer cleans the ink cartridges.

  3. Try to print again.

  4. Examine the page.

Check the print settings.

  1. Open a document, click File, and then click Print.

    The Print window opens.

  2. Select the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu.

  3. Depending on your print job, you might consider modifying the following settings:

    • Paper type: If one of the options matches your paper type exactly, select that option.

    • Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality. To print more quickly, decrease the print quality.

To save your settings for future print jobs, select Save in the Presets menu, and then name the new preset.

Let me know if that helps.

Cheers.
