DeskJet D2680
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am moving and need to packup my printer for shipping.  It is a DeskJet D2680.  The manual has instructions on taking it out of the box, but not for putting it back in.  Do I remove the print cartridges?  I've read for other printers mixed suggestions on leakage if left in and alignment issues if taken out.

What about the print head?  If so, how do I remove it?

My laser printer and scanner have instructions, but could not find any for the injet.

Hi @WavyGray111993,

I would suggest leaving those cartridges in the printer when moving since this model only has the two cartridges. Make sure the printer is placed in a flat position though, so the cartridges don't leak inside the printer.

Thanks!

Thank you for the quick response and for the posted ink storage directions.  That will help if the unit is to be stored with the cartridges removed.

What I do need to know is if I should leave them in or take them out for packing/shipping.  Will there be print alignment issues if they are left in, or do they need to be left in to prevent this issue?

The cartridges are 60XL, one for color and one B/W.
