I'm trying to print a "print at home" copy of a card game I backed on kickstarter, but for whatever reason when I try to print it, the thing cuts off at the top when it comes out of the printer. This is causing parts of the words on some of the cards to be cut off and it makes it impossible to cut them out right because the whole thing isn't there. I've googled several different possibilities and nothing seems to match the issue I'm having. I'm at my wits end here and if anyone can provide a solution for me I'd be grateful. I've already tried re-aligning the thing several times with the alignment page, and I've fiddled around with various page sizes, nothing seems to have worked so far.

The printer should not be cutting off the top --

The hardware does require a larger margin along the bottom edge.

 

While the requirement does not (should not) impact the top margin, be aware of the limitation when creating content that will be printed on this printer.

 

DeskJet printers, including this model, typically require a larger margin along the bottom edge.

If you rotate the print, the larger margin moves to the side.

There is no software, firmware, or alignment that changes the larger margin requirement.

 

The solution to "chopped off" is to keep all data inside of 1/2 inch / 12.7mm on the bottom edge. 

 

This limitation includes all text, images, page numbers, footer information, cells, tables, lines, other notations, and all file types, too.

 

For example,

Create your original document with 1/2 inch margins.

When the document is Exported to PDF and printed, it has less chance of balking or being chopped.

 

 

Next,

 

If you have not done so, try a Printer Reset.

This is a standard procedure.

Essentially >> Unplug while on > Stand around for at least one minute > Plug in, using a wall outlet.
