HP DeskJet Ink Advantage Ultra 4729 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
Hi,

I have "HP DeskJet Ink Advantage Ultra 4729 All-in-One Printer". Cartridges used till now are 2 HP 46 Black and 1 HP 46 color.

The total page count currently is 1870 as per the printer usage report. The expected page yield count for HP 46 black is 1500 and for color is 750 pages. I have been using normal quality print and standard A4 size paper with most of black/white printing. By looking at the current yield of 1870 it is no where near to 3750 and almost my current cartridges ink status is on last bar.

Is there any problem with cartridge or printer itself and what should I do to confirm this.

Thanks
Sushil

Page yield count is based on 5% coverage, if you print in higher coverage then the page yield goes down. For 10% coverage page yield is half 750 for black.

Some amount of ink is used to maintain print quality during printhead maintenance, every time you turn your printer off, and with the new printer, you probably got setup ink cartridges which have a lower yield than the one you buy at store or online.

Also, you cant expect to print 3750 pages just by adding 2 black 1500 pages yield and 1 colour 750 pages yield.

Ink status bar is just an estimate, to help customers plan to buy a new cartridge.

In an average customer, the printed page yield is over 5% coverage so that's the main reason of lower than expected page count.
