Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I just bought a HPOfficeJet Pro 8710 (after returning 6728 for the same problems)...

I installed the printer and was printing off cards - and it was changing the spacing slightly.  So I checked for updates and it updated the printer software.  I then aligned the cartridges.

Now the print spacing doesn't even print on the page at all...

What can I do to fix this?  Is there some way to roll back to a prior driver? At least before it printed on the actual page?

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand there's an issue with the spacing.

Appreciate you trying the steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help! To better assist you - Does this happen while making a copy as well?

While you respond to that let's try these steps -

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for HP Printer software.
3) Right-click to uninstall.
4) In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.
5) In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6) Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8) Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10) Select Ok.
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12) Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13) Restart the computer.
14) Download and install the software and drivers from here.

If the issue still persists, try creating a custom paper size. Please refer to Creating Custom Paper Sizes

You may also try updating the printer's firmware from here.

Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.

No it didn't work.

I had a HP support person remove all the drivers, as well as old drivers from my previous printer.  it seemed to work fine, until it was time to pull out the paper feed and add more paper.

Then, once again, the spacing went completely off.

Something is wrong with the latest update for the printer.  This is 2 printers that have had the same problem.  At this point, i'm tempted to go back to Staples and get a non-HP printer.

I brought my brother printer to the office from my home and it doesnt' have these issues.

My boss also bought an HP printer - and it worked fine, until the automatic update was applied and now hers no longer works.

Something is wrong with your updates that is making the printers not work properly.  We are a charity and can't wait any longer to print the cards for our donors.  Clearly this is a problem with all your HP printers and we can't afford to anger donors while we wait for you people to figure out what you did wrong.
