PAGEWIDE 377dw MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

On a PageWide 377 connected in network the printings became completely random, either it prints only a part of the page, for example the right part, or a part is completely faded.

I did all the troubleshooting without success.

I had not used the printer for 3 months and I have just changed 2 new cartridges, one of which is black and shows a half-filling.

I don't understand the problem

Can  you clarify the problem a little. Do the jobs print properly but are missing sections or is it printing garbage characters? If ink is missing, notably on the right side of the page and the printer was left for three months there is a possibility that the pigment in the black ink has settled out and clogged nozzles in the print head. The ink formulation was reworked a while back to help reduce this issue. If this is the problem you are facing the only real solution is to first make sure your firmware is up to date and then make sure the expiry date on the ink cartridge is later than April 2022. Then you need to print 100 pages of the attached PDF. The purpose here is to saturate the print head and this will in most cases soften the clog and recover the printhead. It may take a couple of days for the print quality to completely recover. This is really the only solution, works about 90% of the time.

Likely a failed printhead. Some managed models of this device have a 3 year warranty on the printhead assembly.

etc..

I recapitulate in English (aproximative..)
After a black cartridge change on a printer that had not worked for several months, the printing is random, especially the black that prints only on a part of the page.
I tried several cleanings without success as well as the solution of printing 100 black pages to unblock the print head.
At the end of this manipulation, the system tells me that the cartridge is not compatible (it is a recent HP cartridge). How to know if the problem comes from the cartridge or the print head?
