Same sort of thing – slightly different wrapper. If I try to print from inside PsP 64bit, I get the error message, “tab control failed to initialise.” Click “ok” to accept that, and the program then hangs, briefly displaying a print dialogue box that doesn’t look quite right (could be my eyes)? And then boom, gone. I HAVE: Windows 10 pro 64bit, (off disc) updated to latest build via download Corel PsP 2018 64 & 32bit downloaded (end of May) HP Colour Laserjet Pro M254dw (bought end of March) My office pc I recently built myself. The printer is wireless, while all my peripherals (TV etc.,) are hard wired to my Network router, as well as linking wirelessly to my office pc, my laptop, my wife’s laptop and her notebook. I though I’d mention these facets in case anybody is thinking this is anything other than a software issue (ho ho) Cos here’s the interesting thing: same PsP program, same printer, but different O/S! (Windows 8.1 64bit) on my Laptop. And, albeit a little bit slower, it prints just fine. I’ve a feeling everyone’s looking possibly in the wrong direction.

I have several posts concerning this problem, but no definitive solution.  I was told last year by Corel support that they were aware of the problem and were going to fix it this year.  From your post, I assume they have not.  I still harbor my disgust for their lack of empathy and action, and while I am now able to print (see my posts from last year), I am avowed to never again support or recommend them and/or their products.

The only thing I can think of is their secondary support company, which will charge you.

YES! I get a sort of a double dialog box after I dismiss the error message, then PSP just shuts down.

I'm using a wired printer.

I've also been wondering if it's a Windows problem  (Win 10 in my case) because I had to stop using PSP X8 64-bit (for a different problem - would not SAVE files), whereas 32-bit worked fine. Strange that it seems to be only HP printers though.  Before that I had an Epson and I  *think* (can't recall the dates, mid-last year?) I could use PSP X8 64-bit fine back then.

I bought the software online so I can't reinstall from disc.   😞

After my original post, I encountered a lengthy (3+ weeks) with Corel regarding this issue via support tickets.  The ticket was moved up to the advanced support area, and the bottom line is still the same.  The problem is entirely with the printer drivers in the software and the fact that they do not work with our HP printers.  This is true for not only 2018 but the previous version also.

The say that they are aware of the issue and will address it in the "next update".  i told them that they had been telling me this for the past year, and that i was tired of waiting for an update that was obviously not going to come.  I told them that to knowingly sell defective software was a crock, and that I wanted a drop dead date by which the problem would be solved.

They could not provide one.  THey also informed me that corel will not issue any refunds for the software as the 30 day guarantee is up.  Of course, it's up because when I discovered the issue and contacted them, I bought into their lies about fixing it in an update.  As far as I am concerned, They are dishonest, crass and frankly do not give a **bleep** about their customers.  For this reason, I am no longer using paint shop pro, but moving over to photoshop and illustrator, which is a huge learning curve, as i have used psp since it was jasc PSP.   Wishing it still was.
