Hi @Chrissy73,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP DeskJet 2700e is having trouble picking up paper, it's likely due to dirty or worn rollers.
Here's how you can try cleaning them:
- Turn off the printer: Before you start cleaning, make sure the printer is turned off and unplugged from the power source.
- Remove the paper: Take out any paper from the input tray and output tray.
- Access the rollers: The rollers might not be easily accessible, but you should be able to access them by opening various covers. Refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions on accessing the rollers.
- Clean the rollers: Once you've accessed the rollers, you can use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to clean them. Gently wipe the rollers to remove any dust, paper fibers, or other debris. Avoid using alcohol or other harsh chemicals as they can damage the rollers.
- Rotate the rollers: After cleaning, manually rotate the rollers to ensure they move freely. This can help dislodge any remaining debris and ensure proper function.
- Reassemble and test: Once you've cleaned the rollers, carefully close any covers or trays you opened to access them. Plug in the printer, turn it on, and try printing a test page to see if the issue has been resolved.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
