I had a paper jam, cleared the jam, but the printer won't clear and keeps indicating that I have a paper jam. I have cleared all possible sources of the jam multiple times. I have unplugged the printer from the outlet multiple times. I have cleaned the rollers. Nothing seems to work. Please help!

Hi @rrslee,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Dealing with a persistent paper jam error on a printer, even after you've cleared the jam and taken several troubleshooting steps, can be frustrating. Here are a few additional steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check for Small Paper Pieces: Even a tiny piece of paper stuck in a sensor can trigger the error. Use a flashlight to look for small pieces of paper that might be hidden in corners or rollers.

Inspect the Paper Path: Open all printer access doors and inspect the paper path. Follow the route that the paper travels through the printer to ensure there are no obstructions.

Reset the Printer: You mentioned unplugging the printer, but sometimes a more extended disconnection is needed. Unplug the printer for about 10 minutes, then reconnect it. This can help reset any sensors that might be stuck in error mode.

Check the Sensors: Look for any paper sensors along the paper path. These can sometimes be small levers or wheels. Gently ensure they are not stuck and move freely.

Update Firmware or Software: Check the HP website for any firmware or software updates for your printer model. Updates can resolve hidden bugs or issues causing the sensor to malfunction.

Consult the Manual: Look at the printer’s manual for specific troubleshooting related to paper jams for your model. Manuals often have detailed steps for resolving specific error messages.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks. I have tried all of those steps multiple times and unfortunately they didn't work. Do you have any suggestions as to next steps? It's still a relatively new printer -- probably just a couple of years old.
