About 50% of the time, my HP F4180 all in one, tears or bends a corner of the printed paper output.  Has anyone else experienced this regularly with this printer ?

Thank you!  I wasn't loading enough paper in the tray.

I am having a similar issue with my Officejet 4500.  The paper pulls in, bends in the corner, then jams in the copier.  I have tried more paper, less paper, etc.  I cannot find anything caught in the printer.  What else could be causing this?

Hi jsargo,

From what you are describing, your issue appears to be from the ADF (on top of the printer) _ "jams in the copier".  The title of this document is about ... ADF not picking up paper.  This document contains cleaning steps that could help with resolving your issue (solution 2).

ADF Cleaning

See if cleaning the rollers or clear strip helps.

The printer bends the corner over when printing. Removing paper from the tray makes the problem worse. Adding paper did not fix the problem.  I've also tried cleaning the rollers, this did not work either.

The problem was fixed when I reran the printer alignment. Once I reprinted the alignment sheet and aligned the printer for the second time it fixed the output tears and bends.  The printer is now working correctly!
