Paper size mismatch

Hello,

Printer: HP DeskJet 2700 series

I keep getting error "Paper size mismatch' when I try to print. I have tried from mobile, laptop with Mac and windows both. Same error from each place. 

Scanning is working fine. Only issue with print.

I have tried to reset using removing power plug wait and login trick but it did not work for me. 

Is there any other way to fix the issue. Please advise.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

The issue might be (in fact, is likely) related to the paper size you want to use for the current job and the paper size the printer is expecting.  Yes, ideally, these are always the same size.

If you have not done so,

• Specifications >> Check that the paper size and paper type are supported by the printer.
• Tray and Paper >> Check the paper size and paper type the printer is expecting - correct if necessary.
• Job Submission >> Recheck your job setup.  Much is different between job types and the application software used to configure printer jobs.  One general example is included near the end of this message.
• Printer Software >> Not covered here -- unlikely since all devices provide the same result --  If you need help to reload the printer software, pick a device and OS version -- and ask.

The printer lacks a printer display panel - use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to modify / check the paper.

• EWS is available on many network connected printers.
• Laser Printers - Options and Settings - availability and location - are likely (and frequently) different.

If EWS is supported on your printer,

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view / configure your printer.

No Size?  If the size of the Paper Size is not included in the Drop-down list, Select Custom

Copy dislikes mismatched content / paper size and type.  If / As available,  Check / Update Copy settings  in EWS > Copy > Settings > Copy Defaults

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management

Model Dependent: 

• No Size > Select “Custom”  Note:  Not all printers support size “Custom”
• Advanced section > General Tray, Default Paper, Default Tray, Tray Lock

Click Apply to save changes

Reminder: Tray and Paper settings must adjusted before opening the object to be printed.

Open HP Smart (for mobile)

Open Click on “Green Circle Check” on Printer Status icon

Scroll down to Preferences

Click, Tray and Paper

Reminder:

Pay attention to paper size and paper type combinations.

For example, if you are using 4x6 inch Photo Paper, do not select paper size 4x6 inch Index Card

The printer is defaulting to a tray which does not exist.  Settings offer small, medium, and large paper/tray choices which don’t exist.  This is subsequent to a Firmware update which was flawed.
