HP PSC 1610 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows XP

Had a terrible noise coming from my HP PSC All-in-One printer. Assumed the cartridge carrier was jamming on the carrier bar. Thought a little WD40 would help. Sprayed it on. Big mistake. Should have applied it with a clothe. Spray everywhere and paper would not feed as rollers 'wet'. Cleaned rollers as much as possible. Now printer feeds paper as soon as it is put into the 'print postion' on the print tray and then pulls it through to half page instead of 'head of form' with a resulting 'Paper Jam' comment. Have tried the 'Unplug whilst still powered on' reset to no avail. Suspect oil covering a sensor somewhere? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
