Welcome to the HP support community.

Could you elaborate on the issue for better understanding?

After successfully printing several A7 greeting cards and A7 envelopes recently, of a sudden the prints started coming out totally misaligned.  I use a 'hallmark' logo on the lower edge on the back of my cards - this is missing altogether because the greeting on the front of the card ends up with a 1.5 inch gap from the bottom edge as opposed to less than .25".   Oddly enough, the printer WILL print my 7"x10" (A7) design on  plain white 'letter' size paper but it  does NOT do so when I load card paper stock.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, run an HP diagnosis; everything checks out as working & checked that the firmware IS up-to-date, all to no avail.  I cannot tell you how much paper and INK (!) I have wasted trying to solve this problem.

I have pictures of some of the  misprinted cards and envelope to post if that would clarify my description.

Did you uninstall the printer driver from the root level before installing the new driver?

If not,

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install the printer using HP Smart app

Hi

Once I reached the ‘run’ command (windows key+r) from your above instructions and typed “printui.exe/s”, an error window response stated, “Windows cannot find – make sure you typed correctly….” etc.   In ‘Drivers’ I deleted everything HP.  My PC no longer has the 4650 app on my desktop and no HP drives are apparent.

I tried using the HP Smart app to reinstall as you suggested and I receive a green check mark next to the 4650’s picture with “Ready” to print.

I was able to print a “Printer Status Report” from the printer itself but I cannot print anything from my PC … of course.

I’ve even tried using the CD that came with the printer to reinstall, nothing happens, it won’t even open.

I feel I need live tech support, is there no such service available?

This might require one on one interaction to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
