Trying to print a recipe and the printer will print a partial list of ingredients then skips to the last 2 lines of the instructions leaving out everything in between.

Hi @geno4952,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

 I'd like to help!

I understand the printer only prints parts of a document.

To assist better-

1) Does the copy print out the same way?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -

  1. Load plain white paper in the tray.

  2. Print the report.

    • Printers with a touchscreen or menus: On the printer, open the Settings or Setup menu, touch Tools or Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report or similar.

    • Printers without a touchscreen or menus: Go to 123.hp.com or your app store to install the HP Smart app. Click the picture of your printer on the home screen to open printer management options that include the report.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable for your printer -  Print Quality Issues

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Yes it prints pretty much the same way. If I have say 10 items in the doc I'm trying to print it will print maybe items or lines 1,2,5,8,10

Trying to print from notepad.

I printed the diagnostic page and it was messed up.At the top of page the header "print quality diagnostic" was only 1/2 there.(top half of all letters in those words) Items 1 & 2 printed ok, skipped #3 then a few colored blocks, Line 4 printed ok then it skipped to Item # 7. The printer seems to be getting only part of the info it should be printing. The WiFi connection is strong so I can't figure out what's going on.  Maybe I will just get a different printer. I am in the free ink program and have used up most of my allotment for the month trying to solve this issue and can't see paying for more pages to solve this on a $99 printer. It's making me crazy because it worked fine a week or so ago and now this.

Thanks for your assistance

Try the below suggestions

Follow the below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference. If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:

  1. On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
  2. Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
  3. Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
  4. Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless/ethernet icon on the printer screen
  5. Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
  6. Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
  7. Try printing

If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.

Let me know how this goes!

Thanks for all your help. I will try this solution some time if needed. I fixed the problem myself. Being that the 3772 model can be had at Walmart for $89 I just got a new printer. It was much less of a hassle and it works like a charm. I am an HP fan and will continue to use their products.  Thanks again for your assistance.

Peace
