HP Envoy Photo 6230
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer works fine, but each time I request a print-out a 'Unable to Communicate with Printer" error message pops up. Running the HP Print and Scan Doctor fails to identify any problems in the printer configuration.

Thanks for your recommendation. I ran through the suggested process twice, after the first re-install the "Unable to Communicate ..." msg persisted.

However, after the second un-install/re-install process the print warning msg did not appear when printing ... issue fixed.

Here is what I did differently during the second un-install/re-install process -

  • At Step 9. During HP Printer driver removal, I selected the "Remove Driver + Driver Package" option instead of the "Remove Driver Only" option.
  • After Step 12, I switched off the printer and disconnected the USB cable to the printer.
  • Then re-started the computer and re-connected the printer USB cable.
  • Win 10 then recognized the newly connected printer and auto-installed the HP Smart App.
  • On completion of the HP Smart install, I then returned to Step.13 and re-installed the main printer software using the EN6200_Full_WebPack_44.4.2678.exe file.
  • Finally, I tried a few test prints from various application .... no irritating "Unable to Communicate" messages ... problem solved !

Many thanks for your help, John S
