HP Envy Photo 7155 Printer will not print a photo in color. I've checked photoshop settings and can't seem to fine any printer color settings. It does print in color for scans or normal printing tasks. when I insert photo paper into specified slot and print, it only prints in black and white. Please help.

Hi @Ebes,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the issue might be related to the photo paper settings or the print quality settings. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP Envy Photo 7155 printer and select Printing Preferences.
  • Make sure the Paper Type is set to Photo Paper or the appropriate type for your photo paper.
  • Ensure that the Print Quality is set to Best or High.

Check Photo Paper Slot Settings:

  • Confirm that you are using the correct paper tray for photo paper.
  • If there is a dedicated photo paper slot, make sure it is properly selected in the printer settings.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your HP Envy Photo 7155 printer.
  • Install the updated drivers and restart your printer.

Check Color Settings in Photo Software:

  • Ensure that the photo software (Photoshop) you are using is set to print in color.
  • Sometimes, software has its own color settings that might override printer settings.

Printer Maintenance:

  • Perform a Printer Head Cleaning from the printer’s maintenance menu. This can help if the issue is due to clogged nozzles.

Test with Different Photo Paper:

  • Try using a different type or brand of photo paper to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, photo papers have specific settings.

Print from a Different Application:

  • Try printing a photo from a different application or program to rule out application-specific issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I tried most of these before contacting HP. I still have the problem. Also, I doubt changing the photo paper will help resolve anything. Changing paper does not all of a sudden make a color photograph. It's the printer output settings. I am on a mac, so my settings are different than what you described above. I cannot right click on printer icon. Also, in photoshop I tried using photoshop color settings and printer color settings. Both had same result.
