HP DeskJet 2722e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have an HP Deskjet 2700e printer that has 2 month's warranty remaining that was working fine except for one new problem. I load 6"x 4" photo paper and set the printer accordingly and select the photo to print, confirm the orientation and the paper and size and press print. The picture prints but leaves a blank unprinted margin of approx. 12mm at the RH side. The printer will not print if there is a mismatch but I check that. I have put the photo through Adobe Photoshop Elements and cropped to 6" x 4" or 150mm x 100mm, but it still prints like that. I was considering a factory reset but could not find out how to do that, but now know but wondered if anyone else had encountered this irritating fault.

Welcome to the HP User Community.

Not sure why this is "new".  ??

This printer model / series requires a larger margin along the bottom edge.

Switching to landscape simply moves the "bottom" to the side - so the margin is still larger on that side.

There is no "workaround" to the limitation.

If you set the surrounding margins to 12.7mm (1/2 inch) on a side, at least the margins will be even.

Print Margin Bottom (A4)12.7 mm
Print Margin Left (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Right (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Top (A4)3 mm

Hi Dragon-Fur.

Thank you for your quick reply. I am easily confused so bear with me. In your reply you mention A4. In my initial question I mentioned A6. Your solution seems to offer accepting a 12.7mm unprinted margin each side which on a 6x4 photo is noticeable. Irrelevant now but having used Dell, Canon, and Epsom printers previously I have never encountered this. But thank you for your reply.

You are welcome.

I pulled the information from a database and pasted it into the message.

Sorry for not including the full explanation:

The margin limitation is the same for A4, 4x6 inch, and other paper sizes, too.

The odd limitation is prevalent in the DeskJet Models.

Envy and OfficeJet printers, do not include this "larger margin on one side"  restriction.
