I am printing 4" x 6" glossy photos on a brand new OfficeJet Pro 8720. There is a roller mark all down the side about a half inch from the edge. It is only this size photo that seems to be an issue (so far). How to fix this and get rid of the mark? Is there a way to clean the rollers or is this a different issue?
Guidance appreciated. This is on HP photo paper, set to best quality in settings. Fine except for the roller mark all the way down one side.
Thank you.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
This is a great place to get support, find answers to your technical queries.
I understand that you are getting print quality issue while printing photos, need not worry I'll be glad to assist you.
Follow the below steps to clean the roller.
Step 1: Check the paper, and then reload it
Paper feed issues might result from using ripped, dusty, curled, wrinkled, or bent paper. The quality of the paper can also make a difference. Use these guidelines to help avoid the issue.
-
Use only good quality paper that meets printer specifications.
-
Store all paper in a dry, cool place. Paper feed issues occur more often in humid environments.
-
Do not print on paper that is already printed. The dampness of the ink can cause the paper to stick together.
-
Wait for the printer to complete a job or for an Out of paper or Load Paper message to display before you reload the paper.
Make sure the paper you use to print is in good condition, is neatly stacked in the tray, and the paper path and tray are free from obstructions.
-
Pull out the input tray.
-
Remove any paper from the input tray.
-
Remove any severely bent, wrinkled, or torn paper from the stack.
-
Check for obstructions inside the input tray. Make sure nothing blocks the paper from engaging with the rollers. Even small pieces of paper can cause paper feed issues.
-
With both hands, hold the stack of paper, and then tap the bottom edge of the stack on a flat surface so that the stack is even on all sides.
-
Load the stack of paper into the input tray, and then push the stack into the tray until it stops.

-
Make sure the stack of paper is aligned with the appropriate paper size lines on the bottom of the input tray. Do not load more than 250 sheets of paper or exceed the maximum stack height.
-
Push the input tray forward until it snaps into place, and then lower the output tray.
-
Slide in the paper-width and paper-length guides until they rest against the edges of the paper.

-
Insert the input tray into the printer.

-
The printer control panel displays the paper size loaded.
-
If the paper size loaded does not match what is displayed, touch Modify, select your paper size and type, and then touch Done.
-
If the paper size is correct, touch OK.
-
Try to print. If the issue persists, continue to the next step.
Step 2: Clean the paper feed rollers from inside the ink cartridge access area.
Dust, paper fiber, and other debris might accumulate on the paper feed rollers and cause paper jams and paper feed issues. Clean the rollers inside the printer, and then try to print again.
Gather the following materials:
-
A lint-free cloth
-
Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water might damage the printer)
-
Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord and any other cables.
WARNING:
You must disconnect the power cord before reaching inside the printer to avoid risk of injuries or electric shock.
-
Lift up and push back the cartridge access door.
-
Lightly dampen the swab with the water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from the swab.
-
Press the swab against the rollers inside the printer, and then rotate the rollers upwards with your fingers. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to remove any dust or dirt buildup.
-
Allow the rollers to dry completely (approximately 10 minutes).
-
Close the ink cartridge access door.
-
Reconnect the power cord and any other cables to the rear of the printer, and then turn on the printer.
Try to print. If the error persists, continue to the next step.
Step 3: Clean the rollers from inside the rear of the printer
Clean the rollers behind the ink cartridge access area of the printer.
-
Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord and any other cables.
-
Turn the printer so that the rear access door faces you.
-
Press the two tabs inward to open the rear access door, and then remove any jammed paper.
-
Press the two buttons on the paper path cover, and then pull the cover out of the printer.
-
Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with bottled or distilled water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.
-
Press the cloth against the rollers, and then rotate them upward with your fingers. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to remove any dust or dirt buildup.
-
Repeat the cleaning steps on the paper path cover rollers.
-
Allow the rollers to dry completely (approximately 10 minutes).
-
Insert the paper path cover back into the printer.
-
Close the rear access door.
-
Reconnect the power cord and any other cables to the rear of the printer, and then turn on the printer.
Try to print.
