Hello - and thanks for staying with this.
I can see the Options if I follow the Manual guide to loading photo paper
but I cannot do as the manual says i.e. Change or retain paper settings because the photo tray option is greyed out and does not respond

Let's try to reset the Printer here:
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.
Let me know if this helps.

Hi - no joy, I'm afraid.
As I can get the prints I need on the paper size I need (using the HP Smart App) I think we need to close this now as an "unsolvable irritation". Thanks very much for your efforts.
Kind regards
