Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Are you trying to print from a memory card or a digital camera?

This could be a hardware issue with the printhead of the printer if you have already replaced the ink cartridge and the issue persists. Let us try these steps:

Step 1: Clean the print cartridge automatically

  1. Press the Menu button on the printer control panel.
  2. Press Left/Right arrow button to highlight Tools, and then press Print.
  3. Press Left/Right arrow button to highlight Clean Print Cartridge, and then press Print.
  4. Follow the prompts on the printer screen.

Step 2: Try to print a test page and check the print quality

  1. Ensure that the memory card has been removed from the memory card slot.

  2. Make sure the printer is turned on.

  3. Load paper in the input tray. Use plain paper or index cards to conserve photo paper.

  4. Press the Left/Right arrow button to open the printer menu.

  5. Press the Left/Right arrow button to highlight Tools. Press the OK button.

  6. Press the Left/Right arrow button to highlight Print Test Page. Press the OK button.

Let me know how this goes.
