Trying to help neighbour. When pressing the start button, after a few secconds the screen turns blue the symbols start flashing and a start button symbol + C4EBA341 shows on the blue screen. My neighbour did possibly pull the power cord while the printer was still on (sleeping mode). Grateful for any help or suggestions. /Ulmus

Hello again!

After having posted my answer to you I continued "manhandling" the printer and power cord in connection with googling for a alternative solution. Suddenly the printer started (hand of God?) and now seems to run OK.

Maybe some further issues with ink cartridges and other. I will return if I require further assistance.

Thank you for now!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Let's try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Let me know if this helps.

Hello Betty!

Thanks for your prompt response. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem. The power cord reset we of course have tried a number of times to no awail. I connected the printer to my computer via USB to load/upgrade firmware. The problem is however that the printer is halted so early in  the start-up sequence that USB does not connect (no "pling" in my computer).

There must be another way to restart the printer. The blue screen display of a start button ikon + the error code (?) C4EBA341 must indicate what has happened and lead to an analysis by you or another experienced HP employee of what can be done. Is there a more "drastic" method of resetting the firmware. As far as I can see there is no hardware failure, just a stupid "hang-up".
