Photosmart 7150
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a photoasmart 7150 - I love that printer.  A bit ago the ink light started to blink when before the printer started to print.  I would push that button and it would go off and the machine would print, but it  was only printing the left side of a paper.    Now when I wanted it to print something the ink light would go on, I pushed it and nothing happened.  No printing and an error was listed for that job.

I replaced both the color and black cartiages with new ones.  It printed a test page, but again only on the left side.  Doing a regulart print page.  The ink light again came on, I pushed it off and it printed again only the left side.

If I don't push the ink light nothing happens.  It has worked great with my Windows 10 home until just this.  I would appreciate any suggestions to repair this and again use my great printer.

I tried both your suggestion and HPs, but the problem is the same.    The printer gets the new cartiages ready to print, the ink light flashes on and nothing happens - no printing.  I know that the cartiages are fine because I checked / used them in a friends 7150 printer.

Now I am going to see if I can get repaired, but with the age of this printer I am not sure I can.  If it can't be repaired I will have to locate another 7150.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Photosmart 7150 Printer and it does not print. You have installed new HP ink cartridges and the issue persists. Initially, the print was on the left side only and now the ink cartridge light is on and the printing has stopped.

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
  • Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the issue persists then please perform the steps as described in detail from this HP article

Hope this helps. Let me know how this pans out. Good luck! 🙂
