Hello
The printer will simply turn off, frequently. Because when I press the turn on button lower right nothing happens I must unplug the power adapter at the printer and then unplug the cord at the ac and sometimes even at the wall. I then must connect all together then the printer turns on. However, everytime I do this the message panel tells me I did an inappropriate shut down - that is not so - the printer just turns off. If this a feature of the Photosmart 8500? Anyway is there a solution that will help to keep the printer from shutting down? Possible a new power adapter but if it turns the printer on seems that it must be working.
Let me hear from you.
Thanks

Hi @Meherabode
Welcome to the HP support community.
It sounds like your HP DeskJet 3755 is experiencing some power issues. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:
1. Check the Power Adapter and Connections
- Ensure that the power adapter is securely connected to both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Inspect the power cord for any visible damage. If you see any fraying or cuts, it may need to be replaced.
2. Try a Different Outlet
- Plug the printer into a different wall outlet to rule out any issues with the original outlet. Avoid using power strips or extension cords.
3. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
- Turn the printer back on.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Check for any available firmware updates for your printer. You can do this via the HP Smart app or the HP support website, Click HERE
5. Check Power Settings
- Sometimes, power settings on Windows can affect how devices behave. Ensure that there are no power-saving settings that might be turning off the printer unexpectedly.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I need to follow up on this. Indeed I did follow the steps however the ink cartridges in the machine were put in there two years ago. I replaced the print head as I got an message that it was not working. Then today I elected to replace the ink cartridges - all this after I had unplugged the power at the machine at the wall. Then connected the power, replaced the print head with new cartridges.
The machine after turning on insisted on running an alignment and as soon as the process started the machine turned off.
I then follow the steps again unplugging plugging in and so forth the machine again continued to do an alignment and then the printer shut down and I repeat these steps and the printer says something like inappropriate shutdown don't do that again however I am in several, at least ten, re plugging in, printer turning on and the whatever process the printer engains in the printer powers off.
So once the printer turns on the alignment process takes control I cannot do anything to stop it if I hit the red x to stop the machine turns off. I was thinking to do a factory reset also thinking to replacing the ac adapter.
I bought the printer a decade ago. I have used it less than a couple of hours. It is essential a new machine thus this shutting down at the moment is preventing a normal use of the printer.
Thanks !
