I am having multiple problems with my printer and maybe it's time to dump it and go with EPSON since all of my problems have ever been with HP! Here is the list.
- "Ink system failure" (tried the special reset code function to clear the error and even performed a hard reset, no help)
- "Pump motor stalled" tried the trick to remove all ink cartridges. Only works occasionally but now does not seem to help
- "Carriage jam" - I have tried moving the carriage back and forth as recommended. I also did look for any paper debris; I cannot see any.
- "Improper shutdown" - happens every time now even though I properly shut it down.
Occasionally the printer will work after multiple reboot attempts and be okay for about 1hr but then I will surely get the "Ink system failure" of death code. Another strange thing is that the printer seems to go through a very large cycle of startup s for cleaning, calibration, etc. I remember when the printer was new, it only did that the first time I used it or put new cartridges in. Now it keeps doing all sorts of clicks, carriage slides, paper drum turns, etc. for 3min or even longer. It almost seems like my printer has a virus if that is possible! Anyway, are there any suggestions before my printer shares the same fate of the printer in the movie "Office Space"?
