Hello, @tositato

Thanks for the update!

This could be an issue with the printer driver. Try the steps below to reinstall the printer driver and check:

·         First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.

·         Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.

·         Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.

·         Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.

·         Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.

·         Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

·         Restart your computer.

·         Now click http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL51217/bi-124140-4/OJ8620_198.exe to install the software.

·         Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂

Hello, @tositato - Hope you are well 🙂

Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

Going through your post, I understand you are having issues while printing color from MS Word. I would suggest the following steps:

  • In Word, click on "File" - "Options".
  • Click on "Display" - Select the box which says "Print background colors and images".
  • Click Ok to save the settings and then try to print.

If the issue is specific to the MS word package, then try these general steps to try and fix the issue:

1) Go to Control panel - Devices and printers - Right-click on Officejet 8620 and select "Printing preferences". Click on "Advanced" tab and make sure the "Advanced printing features" are enabled. Now try to print. If the issue persists, go to the next step.

2) Go to Control panel - Programs and features - Locate Microsoft office package - Right-click and select "Change" option. You will get an MS Office pop-up window. Select the "Repair" option and select "Continue". Follow the on-screen instructions to repair the office package. Once done try to print and check.

Let me know if that helps!

Good luck 🙂

im sorry but its not helpful

1) In Word, "File"/"Options" / "Display" / "Print background colors and images". is selected but without result

2) In Control Panel / Devices and printers - Right-click on Officejet 8620 and select "Printing preferences". Click on "Advanced" tab

there isnt any "Advanced printing features" to make enabled. There is only i think HP Real Live technology- with i turn on but without result, other existing options doesnt affect.
