Whenever I copy or scan a doc, it comes out with hundreds black lines runnings down the page, so many that you can not read the doc,
If I copy with color it will copy OK, I changed the black cartage but that did not make any difference. The printer will print OK.
I have turned it off and unplugged it and tha made no difference.
Any Ideas

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the lines in scan or copy on your Officejet Pro 8600.
You mention you have turned off and unplugged the printer. In the reset procedure in step five you need to have to have the scanner closed and the power turned on when you disconnect the power:
Step 5: Reset the printer
- Remove any items from the scanner glass and automatic document feeder (ADF), then close the scanner lid.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into a wall outlet.
NOTE:
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet. - Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Load the original document or photo, then try to scan.If the issue persists, continue to the next step.
