HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer

I'm editing this post, because it turns out that my possible solution was very temporary. You can ignore the steps I followed, as they were ephemerally effective. But then ... maybe they'll work for you...

I got an Error Code 0xc19a0003, and my printer would not print. I followed all the recommended procedures in an attempt to resolve the problem, but nothing worked. I finally decided to try one more idea--one that was not listed among any of the "official" procedures. Here's what I did:

1. With the printer on, I opened the door and removed the cartridges from the holder.

2. I took a tissue and wiped the contacts in the holder where each of the four cartridges locks onto when they're seated.

3. (I think this Step 3 actually might have been the key.) From my medicine cabinet I took out some rubbing alcohol and several cotton swabs (Q-Tips). I dipped a swab in alcohol and then daubed at each of the screens on the cartridge holder which lines up with the ink hole of the cartridge. I used a separate swab with each color. (The swabs absorbed a noticeable amount of ink from the screen.)

4. I waited a few minutes for the alcohol to evaporate, then replaced the ink cartridges in the holder.

5. I unplugged the printer, waited for 60 seconds, crossed my fingers (probably not a necessary step 😉), and plugged it back in.

It worked! No error code! (Now, I have no idea how long this solution will actually work, but at least I was able to print out the two pages I needed with no problem.)

Sorry. I wish I could edit or delete that post. The problem reoccurred after only a couple more pages were printed. I give up... ☹️
